Understanding the test
What is the TOEFL iBT?
The TOEFL iBT is an English proficiency test designed by ETS. Universities and other institutions commonly use it to assess a candidate's ability to study and communicate in English in an academic setting.
The test assesses four skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. There is no pass or fail mark: each institution sets its own requirements.
What changed on 21 January 2026
The TOEFL iBT was updated: adaptive Reading and Listening sections, new task types and a new 1–6 score scale aligned with the CEFR. During a transition period, the score report also shows a comparable score on the 0–120 scale. Our programme is built for this current format.

- Length : about 1 h 30 according to ETS. Scores : 1 to 6 per section, overall score is the average.

Practical guide
How to take the TOEFL in Morocco
You register directly with ETS, online through your ETS account (or by phone using the contact details listed for your country). Here are the steps, in order.

Create an ETS account
Create your account on the official TOEFL website. You'll use it to register, pay, see your scores and send them to universities.

Choose TOEFL iBT
Make sure you select the TOEFL iBT, the test universities use for admission. Check that it's the test your institutions ask for.

Select Morocco as your country
The test country determines the centres, dates and fees shown.

Choose an available date
ETS recommends choosing a date at least 2 to 3 months before your first application deadline, and registering about 4 months before your preferred date, so you have time to retake if needed.

Choose a test centre or the at-home option
Choose an available test centre in Morocco, or the TOEFL iBT Home Edition if the ETS system offers it to you. Also check that your university accepts the format you choose.

Pay the official fee
Pay online from your ETS account: bank card, e-check, PayPal or Alipay according to ETS. The exact amount is shown when you register.

Check your personal details
Your name and date of birth must exactly match the ID you show on test day. You can also choose up to four institutions to receive your scores for free.

Take the test
Bring valid ID. At the end, your unofficial Reading and Listening scores are shown.

According to ETS, official scores appear in your account 3 days after the test; the PDF score report can be downloaded the next day.

Send your scores to universities
Up to four score reports are included in the test fee if you choose them before 10 pm on test day. Extra reports cost more (see the ETS fee list).
What documents do you need?
ID requirements depend on the test location and current ETS rules. One point has no exceptions:

According to ETS, if they don't match, the candidate cannot take the test and the fee is not refunded. The example above is fictional.

Where can you take the TOEFL in Morocco?
Depending on the country and current availability, ETS offers test centres and/or taking the test at home. The list of centres and dates changes regularly.

What TOEFL score do you need?
There is no single TOEFL score required by every university. According to ETS, there is no pass or fail: each institution sets its own requirements.

Two scales during the transition
Since 21 January 2026, the score report shows scores from 1 to 6 (in half points) for each section and an overall score equal to their average. For a two-year transition period, it also shows a comparable score on 0–120. Some universities still list requirements on 0–120: you don't need to convert anything, both formats are on the official score report.

Do I need a minimum level to start?
No, there's no minimum level to enrol. The level test sets your starting point. If the gap to your target is large, we'll tell you clearly and suggest a realistic plan, which may start by strengthening your English basics.

Yes. That's exactly what the level test and initial assessment are for, and they're included in every plan.

Yes, the level test (placement test) is included in every plan.

How long does it take to prepare for the TOEFL?
There's no single answer: it depends on your starting level, your target score and how much time you can give each week. The level test lets us give you an estimate.
For timing, ETS advises taking the test at least 2 to 3 months before your first application deadline and registering about 4 months before your preferred date.
Which plan should I choose?
30 hours suits candidates who already have a good base and a target that's close; 60 hours suits complete, step-by-step preparation; 90 hours suits those with a bigger score gap or who want intensive practice; the monthly plan suits those who prefer to go at their own pace. After the level test, we recommend the plan that best fits your profile.
Can I change plans?
Your situation may change during preparation. Talk to the Englify team: the options for adjusting and how they work are explained when you enrol.
Can I take the classes remotely?
Yes, preparation is 100% online. You can join from any city in Morocco with an internet connection, a microphone and a webcam.
Can I prepare only Speaking and Writing?
The programme can focus on Speaking and Writing if your diagnosis calls for it. We still recommend practising all four skills: the overall score is the average of the four sections, and a university may also require a minimum per section.
How do I register for the TOEFL?
You register with ETS, online through your ETS account or by phone. Follow the steps in our practical guide and the official ETS registration page.
Where can you take the TOEFL in Morocco?
Available centres and dates appear in the ETS scheduling tool when you register, along with the at-home option if it's offered to you. See the official list of test locations.
How much does the TOEFL cost?
The TOEFL iBT registration fee varies by test location. Check the exact amount directly in the official ETS system when you register. Some services cost extra (rescheduling, late registration, extra score reports). See the official ETS fee list.

What score do I need for a US university?
There's no single score. Each university, and often each programme, sets its own requirements, sometimes with minimums per section. Check the official admissions page of your programme. Our rough guide helps you choose a target, but doesn't replace those official requirements.
Does the TOEFL guarantee university admission?
No. The TOEFL proves your English level; admission depends on your whole application (grades, documents, essays, recommendations, etc.) and each institution's own criteria.
How long is a TOEFL score valid?
According to ETS, TOEFL iBT scores are valid for 2 years from the test date. After that, ETS no longer sends them. Source: ETS.
Can I retake the TOEFL?
Yes, you can retake the test. The rules on waiting time between attempts are in the official TOEFL iBT Information Bulletin. The score report also includes "MyBest scores" (your best section scores over two years); each institution decides whether to accept them.

What if my level improves faster than expected?
