Group or Private English Classes: How to Choose

Both formats work — for different goals. Groups give you interaction, unpredictability and motivation. Private classes give you speaking time, a schedule you control and a pace built around your weak points.

In short

Choose group classes if you want interaction, motivation and unpredictable conversation at a lower price; choose private classes if you need maximum speaking time, a schedule you control, or work on a specific goal such as an exam, an interview or a promotion. Englify keeps groups small and formed by level, and you can start in one format and switch to the other later without losing your progress.

Key facts

  • Groups: more interaction, motivation, lower cost
  • Private: more speaking time, flexible schedule, targeted goals
  • Exams, interviews and tight deadlines favour private classes
  • Englify groups are small and formed by level
  • You can switch between formats at any point
  • A free trial and level test come before either choice

What group classes give you

  • Real interaction with several speakers, not just the teacher
  • Pair and group work, debates, and unpredictable conversation
  • Motivation and accountability from a fixed weekly cohort
  • A lower price per hour

What private classes give you

  • Far more speaking time per hour — the whole session is yours
  • A schedule you choose, useful for shift work and travel
  • A plan built on your specific weaknesses and your own material
  • The fastest option before a deadline such as an exam or interview

Which one fits your case

  • Complete beginner who needs confidence — small group, or a few private sessions then a group
  • Blocked at B1 for years — private, to break specific recurring errors
  • Exam in under three months — private, with timed practice and corrections
  • Professional with an unpredictable schedule — private, or a hybrid
  • Learner who needs motivation from others — group

The hybrid option

Many of our students combine one group session for interaction with one private session for targeted correction. It costs less than two private classes and covers both needs.

Frequently asked questions

How many students are in an Englify group?
Groups are kept small on purpose so that every student speaks in every session.
Can I switch from group to private later?
Yes. Many students start in a group and move to private classes before an exam or a job interview, or the other way around.
Are private classes worth the extra cost?
If you have a deadline or a specific blocking problem, yes — progress per hour is higher. For general long-term improvement, a group is often the better value.
How much do English lessons cost in Morocco?
At Englify, small-group online English classes are the most affordable option and private one-to-one classes cost more per hour, because a private teacher works with one student only. Current group and private prices are confirmed on WhatsApp (+212 724 744 137) and on our prices page, since they depend on the format, the number of hours per week and the length of the plan. The trial class is free and no card is required.
Are Englify classes online or in person?
Every class is 100% online and live on Google Meet, at Morocco time. Nothing is pre-recorded: a teacher is in the room with you, correcting you as you speak. Students join from Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier, Fez, Agadir and smaller cities, and from abroad.
